It wouldn’t be summer without summer festivals and it wouldn’t be a summer festival in Avon without corn.

Enter the 31st annual Avon Corn Festival, scheduled for Aug. 12 in the village.

Great music, food and craftsmanship will abound at this year’s festival, which runs from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Games for youngsters, dancing, souvenirs and a 50/50 drawing will all be on offer. The Avon Rotary club uses proceeds from the free festival to support many local, state, national and international service organizations and causes.

More than 100 arts and crafts vendors have registered, featuring wares such as quilts, pottery, flutes, alpaca fiber products, handbags and fairy houses.
