Johnny Appleseed Visitor’s Center marks Columbus Day weekend

LANCASTER — On Saturday, Oct. 7, the Johnny Appleseed Trail Association will be kicking off Columbus Day weekend at the Johnny Appleseed Visitor’s Center, located at 1000 Route 2 Westbound (between Exit 34 and Exit 35) in Lancaster.

The hours will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7 through Monday, Oct. 9, with plenty of entertainment for the whole family to enjoy.

Cub Scout Pack 50 of Leominster will be at the center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday. They will be handing out delicious coffee and doughnuts. The Cub Scouts age from 6 years old to 11.

Lanni Orchards in Lunenburg will have a booth located outside of the center on both Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They will be selling delicious pies and baked goods, while showcasing local products made here in North Central Massachusetts.

On Sunday, Plain View Farm in Hubbardston will be at the Visitors’ Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with its lovable alpacas. Kids are more than welcome to come visit, see and feed them. Plain View Farm will also be selling a variety of alpaca products that it has at its farm.
