Loney’s Alpaca Junction just groomed their 80 alpacas.

The Missaukee County Alpaca farm celebrated their annual shearing day on the farm.

The shearing is a fun day for the workers and it’s something they look forward to.

It also leaves the animals looking a lot less bulky and intimidating (As much as an alpaca can be).

Gina Loney says each alpaca provides about 10 pounds of fleece.

“You get to see what their fiber has produced for the year, which is exciting because some produce more than others and its real soft. It’s beautiful when they cut it off,” said Loney.
