An Irish businessman is alpaca-ing them in with an original new ­agri-tourism venture.

Financial services professional Joe Phelan took a punt on the woolly South American camelids after his kids moved out.

And his Alpaca Trekking service in the Wicklow mountains is now booked out until the end of October after word got out about his unique enterprise on social media.

He has since been inundated with hundreds of requests from people around the world who want to meet his shaggy ­quadrupeds at his alpaca farm in Kilternan on the South Dublin/Wicklow border.

This is where he trains his animals for his Alpaca and Prosecco Treks.

After 38 years in the office as a financial services expert, Joe decided that it was finally time to try something new.

Joe said: “I’ve been banking for almost 40 years, but when you come out with these guys all the stresses of everyday life just disappear.

“I have four kids and three of them all left together at the same time. I was left thinking, what do I want to do?
